I just started going out with a Peruvian guy, he was raised in Lima and seems to come from a well-educated family. I know nothing about Peru. He cooked Lomo Saltado for me to try which was delicious. I found out recently in Peru it’s expected to formally ask the girl to be your girlfriend, which he did- and I accepted. So now I’m coming to you all to find out, like the “must have a formal gf-bf proposal” scenario, if there is anything of note in the culture I should be aware either dating or marriage that would be helpful to understand as an American that doesn’t know anything about Peruvian culture.
