Very specific question, but are tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons popular in Peru and especially in Cusco?
Edit: hopefully this is the right place to ask this question, but if it isn't, please let me know :) Hello everyone, For whoever who doesn't know what a tabletop roleplaying game: it's literally what you probably imagine; a game where people take the role of an elf, dwarf, wizard, barbarian or other fantasy roles and create stories together under rules in a rulebook. A game has a gamemaster, who sort of guides the players in the storyline, towards a certain plot. And it has a playing mat where battles are played. Dungeons & Dragons is 'sort of' inspired by Lord of the Rings fantasy, but there are also sci-fi and horror tabletop roleplaying games. In my country, the Netherlands, it's very popular. But I wondered if there are also people who frequently play these games in Peru. And maybe even in local associations; especially in Cusco. The reason for my question is because I'll visit my Peruvian girlfriend for 10 weeks from November (we'll travel from Peru to Bolivia and Brazil as well😁). She lives in Cusco and I would love to introduce her to the game (because it shaped my childhood and I think, and hope, she would love it as well). She wants to try, but the problem is that she doesn't really know many friends who would be interested in the game and the ones who are, can't speak English, which makes it a bit difficult for me, as the game has many elements which are not really translatable and I can't speak Spanish yet. Ideally I would like to find around 2 or 3 other players (preferably in Cusco) who would like to join a short game (it's no problem if you never played it, because my girlfriend is also new to it). Oh, and of course the game is played in English.
