Hi, I will be flying to Peru with a group in a few weeks. We booked directly with LATAM from DTW to final destination of Tarapoto in Peru. Our first flight will be operated by Delta from DTW to MIA. Then two LATAM flights from MIA to LIM then LIM to Tarapoto. My question is about the transfer in Lima. Our bags should be checked from DTW through to Tarapoto. I am unclear is there is a connection counter to drop bags after customs or if we have to take them to the main domestic check in lobby? Most questions I see on this topic are about self transfers, which does not apply here, and I’m finding conflicting information about the process.
