Hi all, long time backpacker but first time visiting Peru. Curious (and a lil concerned) about impacts of El Niño, and wanted to know your take. I’m set to do Huayhuash trek from Sept 7-15, and then Salkantay Trek/Machu Pichu at the end of September (then exploding Cusco/Sacred Valley thru the first half of October. How will El Niño impact this? Should I change my plans? Will it make any of the trekking unsafe? I know it’s pretty unpredictable, but any guidance or wisdom you have would be greatly appreciated !
