Seeking advice for walking the Qhapaq Ñan - Huamachuco south towards either Huanuco, or crossing Huascarán to Huaraz
I'm no stranger to remote backpacking, but I'm looking for advice on this particular endeavour since it's a mix of relatively short remote sections with lots of rural small towns. Last time I was in Peru, about 10 years ago, I did the typical Inca trail and Colca Canyon treks. I've since started tackling bigger projects like sections of the Greater Patagonian Trail. I loved the culture in Peru, and am looking to really experience the rural life and the unique topography of the high plains. I've heard of only a few people taking on such a large unofficial section of the Qhapaq Ñan, including a pair of women who walked the length of the Americas! Any advice on the culture in the area, logistics, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
