Hey everyone, starting to plan a trip to Peru for August and have a few questions I can't seem to find straight answers to. Heard Machu Picchu tickets sell out months in advance — is this true? Also read they sell 100 tickets on the day at Aguas Calientes, is it worth the risk of just showing up or is that a bad idea? Second, Inca Trail vs Salkantay — which is actually better? I know permits for the Inca Trail are limited, just wondering if people prefer one over the other. Got around 2 weeks, maybe 3. Is that enough to see most of the country or would I be rushing? Budget is roughly $2,000 USD — doable or am I being unrealistic? Also what's the weather like in August? I've heard it's dry season but not sure what to expect day to day. Cheers
