Hi everyone, My girlfriend and I are visiting Peru from 28 August to 8 September and I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary before we finalize everything. We’ll mostly use Uber for airport/hotel transfers and getting around cities. Flights 28 Aug Milan (LIN) → Paris (CDG) – Air France Paris (CDG) → Lima (LIM) – Air France 30 Aug Lima (LIM) → Arequipa (AQP) – Sky Airline 2 Sep Arequipa (AQP) → Cusco (CUZ) – LATAM 7 Sep Cusco (CUZ) → Lima (LIM) – Sky Airline 8 Sep Lima (LIM) → Paris (CDG) – Air France Paris (CDG) → Milan (LIN) – Air France (arrival on 9 Sep) Airport timing We’re planning to arrive: 3 hours before all international flights 2 hours before domestic flights Uber for all airport transfers 28 Aug – Lima Arrive in Lima around 15:40 Uber to Miraflores Walk around Miraflores and Parque del Amor Dinner and relax 29 Aug – Day trip to Paracas & Huacachina Guided tour Ballestas Islands Huacachina oasis and dunes Return to Lima around 23:45 30 Aug – Lima → Arequipa Morning in Miraflores Uber to airport Flight to Arequipa Explore historic center 31 Aug – Arequipa Plaza de Armas Santa Catalina Monastery San Camilo Market Yanahuara viewpoint at sunset Dinner at Zig Zag 1 Sep – Colca Canyon Full-day Colca Canyon tour Condor viewpoint Return to Arequipa 2 Sep – Arequipa → Cusco Flight to Cusco Easy afternoon only (acclimatization) Plaza de Armas Historic center 3 Sep – Cusco Tambomachay Puka Pukara Q’enqo Sacsayhuamán San Pedro Market Coricancha 4 Sep – Sacred Valley Pisac Moray Maras Salt Mines Ollantaytambo PeruRail Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes (19:04) 5 Sep – Machu Picchu Bus up from Aguas Calientes Visit Machu Picchu Return to Cusco 6 Sep – Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca day trip Back to Cusco 7 Sep – Cusco → Lima Relaxed morning in Cusco Flight to Lima Overnight in Miraflores 8 Sep – Lima → Europe Uber to airport Flight back home Questions: Is Rainbow Mountain after Machu Picchu a good idea, or would you skip it? Is one full day in Arequipa enough, considering we’re also doing Colca Canyon? Any restaurants, cafés, or experiences we’re missing in Cusco or the Sacred Valley? Any transportation or timing issues that stand out? Does arriving 2h before domestic flights and 3h before international flights sound reasonable in Peru? If you have been to Peru recently, what would you change, add, remove, or do differently? Any general tips, mistakes to avoid, hidden gems, safety advice, food recommendations, or itinerary improvements are very welcome. Thanks! Any advice is appreciated
