My girlfriend's uncle rents a building for his business. The extortionists are actually targeting the landlord from whom he rented the property, not my girlfriend's uncle directly. However, during this situation, the extortionists began threatening my girlfriend's uncle as well. They sent him photos of family members' IDs (DNI documents) and other private information, showing that they had access to sensitive personal data. They have also blocked or compromised the family's bank cards and exposed personal information belonging to multiple family members. For over a month, the extortionists pressured my girlfriend's uncle to move out of the building he was renting, claiming that they wanted him out because they were targeting the landlord. They repeatedly threatened to kill him if he did not leave. Eventually, my girlfriend's uncle complied and moved his business to another location. Despite this, the extortionists are now claiming that he took too long to leave and are accusing him of "protecting" the landlord. They continue to threaten to kill him even though he already did exactly what they demanded. The situation is extremely concerning because the extortionists appear to possess personal information, identification documents, and financial information relating to the family. Even after complying with their demands, the threats have not stopped, which suggests that giving in to their demands has not resolved the situation. What do we do?
